I’m likely to enter the smartphone bearing population in the next few months. I really want to like the Droid. I don’t like AT&T, I do like the open nature of Android. I do like a physical keyboard and a large screen. I don’t like some of the App Store policies. I do like flash. I do like Apple’s integration capabilities.

Still, there’s the whole application ecosystem thing. That’s awfully big.

Sadly, neither of them come with sufficient storage. The first one to hit the 64gb mark is likely to win me over. That’s because I want a smartphone that will replace my existing phone and my existing iPod, and I carry a lot of music on my iPod. Even at 64gb I wouldn’t be able to carry all my music, but It’d be enough that I could comfortably pare down what I do carry without too much loss. Currently though, both seem to top out at 32gb… grrr. So I am likely to wait.

Keep in mind that the Droid uses (AFAIK) a pretty ordinary SD card. So yes, you're constrained by the expansion of SSD storage, but able to move as quickly as it does, and ought to be able to upgrade when 64GB comes out.

(Admittedly, I haven't looked into this closely -- it's going to be some time before it can replace my 120GB iPod, and the 16GB it comes with is plenty for my other purposes...)
