yes, but who refers to Leopard, OS 10.5? No, they talk about Leopard or Tiger.

And the last bit implies doing icky research. waste of time, that is. :P

Yea, but half the mac users out there know one code, half know another code, and never the twain shall meet - I can't count the number of times I've had someone say "oh, it's panther" and I say "uh, which number is panther, again?" and they say "uh, I don't know - the latest one? Maybe the one before that?"

Oddly, this doesn't bug me nearly as much with Windows, perhaps because Windows doesn't choose alarmingly similar terms which all mean something different (Vista notwithstanding) - XP is not NT is not 2K etc, but the Apple OS codenames all boil down to "big cat" in my head.

Although they do allow for some pretty funny "OS 11: Tabby" jokes. :)
