Well, it's been over three months since my last post in this journal. That's not actually surprising, as I rarely use it. I have, however, noticed that there are 40+ people who list me as a friend, but only 17 people watching the feed from my actual journal. So either a lot of you have bookmarked my regular site, or most of you are missing my real entries. Check the posting before this one to see how to add my real journal to your friends list.

Syndication Points

LiveJournal only allows free users to add a limited number of 'syndication points' worth of feeds to their friends lists. The number of syndication points that it costs to add a feed is 1/(number of people who have it on their friends list) . And some of us (by which I mean me) are viewing your RSS feed via alternate means (http://www.zevils.com/~matthewg/misc/portal/), but still have you on our friends list because, well, you're our friend, and, more practically, want you to be able to view our protected entries (LJ lets you set security constraints on entries; a "protected entry" can only be viewed by people on your friend list.)
