Yard!

Last weekend we went to town with the chainsaw and the loppers.  This weekend we brought in the tractor to scrape and rototill.  Our yard is getting a desperately needed makeover. We pulled out a rhododendron, which, while healthy, was unattractive and had the effect of filling much of the space and visual field.  We cleaned up the abandoned areas around the edges of the yard.  Here are the before and after pictures:

 

 

Since this picture was taken yesterday we’ve also put down grass seed and wildflower seeds into the new area, and we’ll be planting raspberry bushes along the back edge.  This is in addition to the tomatoes, peppers, and herbs we now have crawling across our deck.
