Moving, redux

Oh frabulous joy, you lucky, happy volunteers.  You asked for details on when moving help would be desired, and I shall provide them.

First, there are two chances to help, and you may choose one or the other, or if you are feeling the camaraderie, both!

Opportunity one: Labor Day weekend.  On both the 5th and the 6th we’ll be making the major push to move the bulk of the ’stuff’.  Everything boxed, everything that goes without boxes, etc.  Here truly many hands will make light work.  Cars with cargo space are also somewhat useful.

Opportunity two: The following weekend.  On Saturday the 12th we’ll be renting a truck to move the furniture parts, the stuff way to big for boxes, the stuff that other stuff goes in, etc.  Strong backs, stout hearts, and burly arms will be cherished and sung of by skalds for generations to come.

Of course, if you’ve time on neither weekend, please feel free to come help us pack boxes.  The work is made easy when being social in the process.

To repeat from part one, we offer food and drink, and thanks in droves.  Especially the thanks.

Piece of advice, from having participated in a lot of these: you will often get many more volunteers with a more-focused timeframe. That is, if you say "these four hours are going to be the Main Push", I'll look at that as time to block out, and make a particular effort to get there, whereas a squishy "all weekend" often leads to never quite finding a slot.

That's not exclusive with the all-weekend -- you can stay open the rest of the time -- but telling folks when the heart of the party is tends to motivate more of them to make it, and get a larger army together...
