While trekking out to western Uxbridge (yeah, the middle of nowhere), we (asdr83 and I) got rerouted and detoured and mixed up and almost lost around the center of Uxbridge because of an apparently recently responded to fire. At the time I thought it more of a big annoyance than anything else, causing us to lose a lot of time and be late to our appointed meeting, as well as crowding the roads, and filling the air with acrid smoke. But while listening to the NPR 5 minute news summary yesterday, I found that it was bigger than I thought, making national coverage. Turns out the fire was in a historic mill district, and burned out 60+ businesses affecting hundreds of employees and workers, despite over 400 firefighters from over 40 communities helping out. The mill was built in the 1820s, and made cloth for army uniforms in WWII. No reports as to how the fire started.

(and yes, I know it's been almost a month since I last posted, but dagnabit, I've been busy;I don't want any flak from you,  so stuff it!)
